Action Wellness is proud to announce that we have received a generous $40,000 grant from the W.W. Smith Charitable Trust to support the Michael Taylor Fund (MTF), our emergency financial assistance program for people living with or at high risk of acquiring HIV.
This funding will allow Action Wellness to respond to urgent housing needs by helping cover move-in costs, back rent, and utility payments for clients facing financial emergencies that could lead to housing instability or homelessness. For many, this support can mean the difference between losing their housing and securing or maintaining a safe, stable place to live.
Housing is one of the most important social determinants of health. People with stable housing are better able to access medical care, adhere to HIV treatment, and focus on their overall well-being. By helping clients overcome immediate financial barriers, the MTF provides more than emergency assistance. It creates opportunities for improved health outcomes, greater stability, and a stronger foundation for the future.
We are deeply grateful to the W.W. Smith Charitable Trust for investing in our mission and helping strengthen our community. Support like this makes a measurable difference and allows us to continue responding to our clients’ housing needs with compassion, dignity, and care.
