At Action Wellness, our volunteers, staff, and board members are the lifeblood of our organization. Their dedication, passion, and commitment to our mission help fuel the incredible work we do every day. This month in our Action Heroes series, we sat down with Assistant Director of Client Service, Adrienne C, who leads our Kensington office teams!

AW: How long have you been working at Action Wellness and how did you first hear about the agency?

Adrienne: I have been at the agency for 21 years. I first heard about Action Wellness when I was looking for employment – found them on a website and was very curious about the agency, which lead me to applying.

AW: Tell us some more about the programs you oversee – what are they, and how have they evolved over the years?

Adrienne: I have been involved with the RW programs my entire 21 years in some capacity. We serve individuals living with HIV. HIV itself has changed for the better and being a very manageable virus and advancements in medications have been wonderful.

AW: What are some lesser known aspects of the programs you oversee that people might not know about?

Adrienne: I recently became part of the LEAP team. It is the one program in the agency that does not solely serve individuals living with HIV. It’s a wonderful program and I don’t think many folks are aware that we serve this population.

AW: What is one of your favorite memories of working at Action Wellness?

Adrienne: One of my favorite memories is working with our former PLP coordinator, Patsy Fitz. She was a wonderful woman that made me laugh every day and she is missed by staff who knew her and clients as well. She was a touch woman, but so passionate about our work and working with folks who were incarcerated.

AW: What is the most satisfying part of working with your staff at Action Wellness?

Adrienne: The most satisfying part of my job is seeing our clients succeed in their lives and how we can assist them on whatever journey they may be on.
